This Privacy Policy explains how AURALIVE LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Myrravael, including the desktop application and the website at myrravael.com (together, the "Service"). We've kept this policy short and plain. If anything is unclear, email support@myrravael.com.
1. Information We Collect
You provide directly
- Email address — when you sign up for a free trial or subscribe to the paid plan.
- Payment information — handled and stored entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers, CVCs, or bank details. We only receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Collected automatically by the desktop app
- Device identifier (machine_id) — a hashed fingerprint derived from your computer's hardware. We use this to bind your license to a single device, prevent license sharing, and prevent trial abuse. The machine_id is not personally identifying on its own.
- License key — your trial or subscription key, sent to our servers during validation.
- App version and basic error information — for diagnosing crashes and bugs.
Collected automatically by the website
- IP address — used for rate limiting on the trial signup endpoint to prevent abuse. Stored briefly (under 30 days) for that purpose only.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — our bot-protection challenge runs on the trial signup form. Turnstile is privacy-focused and does not track you across the web.
Generated through your use of the Service
- Character progression data — your character's level and bond data, associated with your license.
- Subscription dates — start, renewal, and cancellation dates of your trial or subscription.
2. How We Use Information
- To deliver the Service to you (license validation, character progression, content updates);
- To send transactional emails — your license key on signup, billing receipts, account notices;
- To process payments through Stripe;
- To prevent abuse (rate limiting, trial-farming detection, license sharing detection);
- To diagnose crashes and improve the Service;
- To respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with advertisers.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small number of trusted vendors to operate the Service. Each receives only the information needed for its specific function:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our backend (Lambda, DynamoDB) where license records, trial records, and progression data are stored. Region: us-east-2 (Ohio).
- Stripe — processes payments and stores all payment information. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Postmark — sends transactional emails (license keys, receipts). See Postmark's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts the website (Cloudflare Pages) and provides bot protection (Turnstile). See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
- Active accounts — we retain your license, machine_id binding, and progression data while your subscription or trial is active.
- Inactive trials — expired or unused trial records are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Cancelled subscriptions — we retain core account records (email, Stripe customer ID, subscription history) for up to 24 months after cancellation for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes, then delete or anonymize them.
- IP rate-limit records — automatically expire within 30 days.
- Email and support correspondence — retained as long as needed to handle the matter and any related follow-up.
5. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we have about you;
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements, e.g. tax records);
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format;
- Opt-out of marketing — we don't currently send marketing emails, but if we ever do, every email will include an unsubscribe link.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@myrravael.com from the email address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.
6. Children
Myrravael is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact support@myrravael.com and we will delete it.
7. Cookies & Local Storage
The myrravael.com website uses minimal browser storage:
- Cloudflare Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie to verify you are not a bot;
- Cloudflare Pages may set basic security cookies (DDoS protection, bot management).
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels. The desktop application does not use cookies.
8. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard practices:
- All network traffic between the app, website, and our backend is encrypted with TLS;
- Backend secrets (API keys, webhook secrets) are stored in AWS Secrets Manager;
- Payment data never touches our servers — it is handled directly by Stripe;
- Access to backend infrastructure is restricted to authorized personnel.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever detect a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly and as required by law.
9. International Users
Our backend is hosted in the United States (AWS us-east-2, Ohio). If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
10. California & EU Residents
If you are a resident of California (CCPA/CPRA) or the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland (GDPR), you have additional rights under those laws. The rights listed in Section 5 apply to you, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers and posted at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
